Merit Higher Institute of Technology was conceived by Mr. Etchu Ebot, a seasoned lecturer and guidance counsellor with a deep conviction that education must go beyond the transfer of knowledge.

His vision was to build an institution where young people are intellectually formed, practically equipped, ethically grounded, and prepared to create value in society.

With the support of Mrs. Makwet Lamare Ernestine and a team of committed professionals, this vision became MEHIT University a modern academic environment dedicated to excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional readiness.

At MEHIT, education is not merely the transfer of knowledge; it is the ignition of potential.

Merit Higher Institute of Technology was created from the vision of Mr. Etchu Ebot to build a modern academic institution rooted in excellence, innovation, and professional readiness.

October 2024

MEHIT officially began academic activities, welcoming its first students into an environment designed for intellectual formation, practical competence, and ethical discipline.
