Beyond the Classroom

Your degree can prepare you for a career.

Your ideas can create something more.

MEHIT students should graduate with more than technical knowledge. They should understand how ideas become opportunities, how businesses operate, how teams are led, how problems are solved, and how meaningful value is created.

A qualification can open the door to employment. But education can also prepare a student to recognise possibilities, organise people, make decisions, build solutions, and create opportunities that did not exist before.

The Innovation Center introduces students to the thinking, discipline, leadership, and business understanding required to move from academic knowledge towards initiative and entrepreneurship.

The MEHIT Innovation Center exists to help students think beyond employment and discover the possibility of entrepreneurship.

The Bigger Picture

Not every student has to create a startup. But every student should understand how ideas, businesses, leadership, and innovation work.

Entrepreneurial Thinking

See problems as possibilities.

Learn to observe challenges, recognise opportunities, and think beyond familiar or conventional solutions.

The real lesson

Innovation is not simply about having an idea. It is about understanding the problem, organising the work, learning from feedback, and having the discipline to move forward.

Student Innovation Journey

From noticing a problem to leading an idea forward.

The journey is designed around how students actually learn: observing real challenges, developing ideas, understanding their value, building early solutions, learning from feedback, and gaining the confidence to lead.

01
Observe

See problems differently.

Students learn to observe their environment, communities, industries, and everyday challenges.

Notice what others overlook.
02
Imagine

Explore what could be better.

Develop ideas and possible solutions by asking new questions, challenging assumptions, and exploring different possibilities.

Give curiosity a direction.
03
Understand

Learn the business behind the idea.

Who needs it? Why does it matter? How could it work? What would it cost? Students begin to understand the people, value, resources, and realities behind an idea.

Move from excitement to clarity.
04
Build

Turn thinking into something tangible.

Develop a prototype, service concept, business model, project, process, presentation, or early solution that makes the idea easier to examine and improve.

Make the idea visible.
05
Test

Learn from reality.

Present the idea, receive feedback, identify weaknesses, challenge assumptions, and improve what has been built.

Progress through feedback.
06
Lead

Develop the confidence to move forward.

Learn to communicate the vision, collaborate with others, make decisions, accept responsibility, and take the next deliberate step.

Turn initiative into leadership.
Not a conventional accelerator pipeline

This journey is built around student growth. It helps MEHIT students develop the awareness, business understanding, creativity, discipline, and leadership needed to move an idea forward.

Business Beyond the Textbook

Business is not only for business students.

Whatever profession you are preparing for, you will work with people, resources, decisions, opportunities, costs, and value. Understanding how business works helps you see your profession differently—and prepares you for possibilities beyond a job title.

Entrepreneurship Workshops

Discover what building a venture really involves.

Practical sessions introduce students to the realities of starting, organising, managing, and improving an entrepreneurial initiative.

What students take away

A clearer understanding of entrepreneurship, business realities, and the responsibilities involved in turning an idea into action.

Learn Discuss Explore Build Present Improve
The Experience

Students do not simply receive information. They examine ideas, discuss possibilities, practise business thinking, work with others, and begin to understand what entrepreneurship requires.

Learn From People Who Have Built

Experience can teach what textbooks cannot.

The MEHIT Innovation Center creates opportunities for students to hear directly from people who have built businesses, led teams, developed technologies, managed difficult decisions, and learned through real professional experience.

Why exposure matters

Students should not only study success. They should understand the uncertainty, mistakes, risk, discipline, resilience, and decision-making behind it.

Conversations that matter

Beyond polished success stories.

Students should encounter honest discussions about what it takes to build, lead, recover, adapt, and continue.

Failure Risk Customers Money Leadership Resilience Decision-Making Growth
Founder & Leader Conversations

Real people. Real decisions. Real lessons.

Confirmed guests, speakers, alumni, and professionals can be introduced here as the Innovation Center’s programme develops.

The lesson beyond the lecture

A textbook can explain a principle. Experience can reveal what that principle looks like when customers disagree, money is limited, plans fail, teams struggle, and a leader still has to decide what happens next.

Who Can Participate?

Built for MEHIT Students.

Innovation starts inside our own community.

The MEHIT Innovation Center is an internal student-focused initiative created to help students develop entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, leadership and venture development throughout their academic journey.

Whether you already have an idea or simply want to understand the world of entrepreneurship, the journey can begin here.
Student Participation Gateway

You don’t need a company. You don’t need a perfect business plan. You can start with an idea.

Innovation often begins with something simple: a problem you have noticed, a question you cannot ignore, a skill you want to use differently, or an idea you believe deserves to be explored.

Share Your Idea

This gateway is intended for MEHIT students. It can later connect directly to the university’s internal student idea submission form.

Your starting point could be

The idea does not need to be complete. It only needs to be clear enough to begin a conversation.

A problem you have noticed

Something affecting students, communities, organisations, industries, or everyday life.

An idea you want to explore

An early thought that needs greater clarity, structure, research, and discussion.

A solution you are considering

A possible service, product, process, platform, or new way of addressing a recognised need.

A project you want to develop

Something you have started academically or personally and would like to examine more seriously.

A skill you want to make valuable

A technical, creative, professional, or practical ability that could become a service, product, or opportunity.

The first step

You do not need to have everything figured out. You only need the willingness to examine the idea and take the first deliberate step.
